New Living Translation:
“But you, O Lord, are a shield around me; you are my glory, the one who holds my head high.”(Psalms 3:3)
King James Version:
“But thou, O LORD, art a shield for me; My glory, and the lifter up of mine head.”
Good News Translation:
“But you, O Lord, are always my shield from danger; you give me victory and restore my courage.”
Contemporary English Version:
“But you are my shield, and you give me victory and great honor.”
Beloved, are you confident like king David to say the Lord is your shield and glory? As His child, not only is He your shield, but also your buckler round about, a protection that surrounds you entirely, a shield above, beneath, around, without and within. He wards off the fiery darts of satan from beneath, and the storms of trials from above, while, at the same instant, he speaks peace to the tempest within the breast. No matter how bad your present situation is, there is a present glory in it, if you could but discern it; have faith in God and ask for grace to trust Him more.
There are divine trio of mercies in our verse today- 1)defence for the defenceless, 2)glory for the despised, and 3)joy for the comfortless.
Beloved, you are lifted above all odds in Jesus name.
