New Living Translation:
“Each had a human face in the front, the face of a lion on the right side, the face of an ox on the left side, and the face of an eagle at the back.”(Ezekiel 1:10)
“Each living being had four faces. In the front they each had a man’s face. There was a lion’s face on the right side and a bull’s face on the left side. There was an eagle’s face on the back.“
Contemporary English Version:
“Each creature had the face of a human in front, the face of a lion on the right side, the face of a bull on the left, and the face of an eagle in back.”
Beloved, as the redeemed of the Lord, you should be humane, kind, and tender in your behaviour towards others.
The face of a lion denotes strength, the lion is the strongest among beasts, so, you must be strong in the grace of Christ, and in the power of his might, to do exploits for Him,to endure hardness as good soldier of Christ; to wrestle with principalities and powers, to be bold in preaching the Gospel of Jesus. The face of an ox represents patience. You need patience in bearing the yoke that is upon you, not only of the ministry, but of your life.
The face of an eagle signifies strength and clear sight. The eagle has so strong an eye, that it is able to see far and they are so diligent in searching into the deep things and particularly to find out where the carcass is. You must see beyond where you are. As a believer in Jesus, you should exhibit these great features for deeper spiritual growth and physical excellence.
