(Philippians 4:13)
Good News Bible:
“I have the strength to face all conditions by the power that Christ gives me.”
Easy-To-Read Version:
“Christ is the one who gives me the strength I need to do whatever I must do.”
Contemporary English Version:
“Christ gives me the strength to face anything.”
Beloved, put aside every mere self-sufficiency, know your weakness, limitations and inability, find strength in Christ Jesus, for without Him you can do nothing.
Apostle Paul, the writer of this passage had more than enough experience that made him say this, and It was not in any native ability which he had; not in any vigor of body or of mind; not in any power which there was in his own resolutions; it was in the strength that he derived from the Redeemer. He was enabled to bear cold, fatigue,hunger, temptations, persecutions; etc. Therefore, you need not sink under any trial, for there is one who can strengthen you., you need not yield to temptation because there is one who is able to make a way for your escape and that you need not be harassed, vexed, and tortured with improper thoughts and unholy desires, there is one who can enable you to banish such thoughts from the mind, and restore the right balance to the affections of your soul and above all, you need not dread what is to come; trials, temptations, poverty, want, persecution,etc, do not sink into despondency. The consolation is that at every step of life, Christ Jesus is able to strengthen you and can bring you triumphantly through.
