New International Version:
“There is surely a future hope for you, and your hope will not be cut off.”
“There is indeed a future, and your hope will never be cut off.”
Christian Standard Bible:
“For then you will have a future, and your hope will not be dashed.”
“Surely there is a future [and a reward], And your hope and expectation will not be cut off.”
Beloved, the preceding verse admonishes us never to be envious of evil people but rather fear the Lord. Do not envy anyone, focus on your relationship with God, fear Him and serve Him; Then a glorious hope which cannot be dashed awaits you. Any affliction or trouble you may be experiencing now is but for a moment, then your reward, that is, a glorious future which is enduring will be yours. Your hope as a child of God must be founded on Jesus Christ the Lord, thereby, your expectation of grace, and every needful supply of it, while in this life, and of eternal glory and happiness in the world to come, shall not be dashed or disappointed, but you shall enjoy what you are hoping, expecting, and waiting for. You will certainly enjoy that good and blessed future you hope for, for your expectations shall never be cut off.
