New English Translation:
“Open my eyes so I can truly see the marvelous things in your law!”
God’s Word:
“Uncover my eyes so that I may see the miraculous things in your teachings.”
Amplified Bible:
“Open my eyes [to spiritual truth] so that I may behold Wonderful things from Your law.”
Beloved, I join the Psalmist to pray this prayer as the month of March is ending today that the Lord will uncover my eyes to see His wonders because without divine grace the eyes are veiled to the wonder and beauty of His law. I ask the Lord to uncover, disclose,reveal, and take away from my eyes what is preventing me from having clear vision in Jesus name. There are deep, hidden, secret things in the word of God, which are not perceived by the natural man and those things, when understood, are suited to excite wonder, or to fill the mind with admiring views of God. You need that special illumination of God to perceive those wondrous things through prayers. I pray that every veil of darkness be removed and the scales be dropped from our eyes, so that our eyes be opened, enlightened, and every ignorance and error be dispelled so we can discern spiritual things contained in the word of God.
