Saturday Soul Tonic

Virtue, Valor and Velocity.

Shalom sister, my name is Doris, fondly called Ododoeye. That's my Pet-name, courtesy my sweetheart by the way; but it has come to be my most popular stage name, just the way he crafted it. I welcome you to Saturday Soul Tonic. It will avail us a few moment to lift one another up each cool Saturday evening on a specific scripture in versions (just as we have enjoyed all week).

Today, I want to share a few thoughts on the populous Proverbs 31 woman. I look forward to putting my upcoming book in your mail as a personal souvenir. That populous Proverbs 31 woman is not an angel. She is not a superwoman; not a semidivine; no! But she is just like you and I: a mother, wife, minister, nurse, entrepreneur, sister and more. But I also hope you realize that these are all nothing but titles. Above all, the populous Proverbs 31 woman is simply a woman. As a woman, especially a woman of God for that matter, your value is rooted deeply in who you are than in what you do or what people call you.

Crafting Value for Yourself

As a pastor, I have preached from today's text more than a dozen times; and I discovered that often, what most of us focus upon is what the woman does and the titles she holds rather than the personality she carries. I therefore invite you to take a careful look into a more important outlook of this woman. Let us take a deeper look into the character of who she is as a woman and draw some spiritual encouragements for ourselves.

1. She is a Woman of Dignity (Proverbs 31:10):

A wife of noble character who can find? She is worth far more than rubies.

Who can find a virtuous and capable wife? She is more precious than rubies.

An excellent wife who can find? She is far more precious than jewels.

A wife of noble character, who can find? She is far more precious than rubies.

Who can find a virtuous woman? for her price is far above rubies.

Who can find a virtuous wife? For her worth is far above rubies.

An excellent wife, who can find her? For her worth is far above jewels.

2. She is a Woman of Patience (Proverbs 31:13, 16):

She selects wool and flax and works with eager hands. She considers a field and buys it; out of her earnings she plants a vineyard.

She finds wool and flax and busily spins it. She goes to inspect a field and buys it; with her earnings she plants a vineyard.

She seeks wool and flax, and works with willing hands. She considers a field and buys it; with the fruit of her hands she plants a vineyard.

She selects wool and flax and works with eager hands. She appraises a field and buys it; from her earnings she plants a vineyard.

She seeketh wool, and flax, and worketh willingly with her hands. She considereth a field, and buyeth it: with the fruit of her hands she planteth a vineyard.

She seeks wool and flax, And willingly works with her hands. She considers a field and buys it; From her profits she plants a vineyard.

She looks for wool and linen, And works with her hands in delight. She considers a field and buys it; From her earnings she plants a vineyard.

3. She is a Woman of Diligence (Proverbs 31:17):

She sets about her work vigorously; her arms are strong for her tasks.

She is energetic and strong, a hard worker.

She dresses herself with strength and makes her arms strong.

She girds herself with strength and shows that her arms are strong.

She girdeth her loins with strength, and strengtheneth her arms.

She girds herself with strength, And strengthens her arms.

She surrounds her waist with strength And makes her arms strong.

4. She is a Woman of Generosity (Proverbs 31:20):

She opens her arms to the poor and extends her hands to the needy.

She extends a helping hand to the poor and opens her arms to the needy.

She opens her hand to the poor and reaches out her hands to the needy.

She opens her arms to the poor and reaches out her hands to the needy.

She stretcheth out her hand to the poor; yea, she reacheth forth her hands to the needy.

She extends her hand to the poor, Yes, she reaches out her hands to the needy.

She extends her hand to the poor, And she stretches out her hands to the needy.

5. She is a Woman of Courage (Proverbs 31:25):

She is clothed with strength and dignity; she can laugh at the days to come.

She is clothed with strength and dignity, and she laughs without fear of the future.

Strength and dignity are her clothing, and she laughs at the time to come.

Strength and honor are her clothing, and she can laugh at the days to come.

Strength and honour are her clothing; and she shall rejoice in time to come.

Strength and honor are her clothing; She shall rejoice in time to come.

Strength and dignity are her clothing, And she smiles at the future.

6. She is a Woman of Wisdom (Proverbs 31:26):

She speaks with wisdom, and faithful instruction is on her tongue.

When she speaks, her words are wise, and she gives instructions with kindness.

She opens her mouth with wisdom, and the teaching of kindness is on her tongue.

She opens her mouth with wisdom, and faithful instruction is on her tongue.

She openeth her mouth with wisdom; and in her tongue is the law of kindness.

She opens her mouth with wisdom, And on her tongue is the law of kindness.

She opens her mouth in wisdom, And the teaching of kindness is on her tongue.

7. She is a Woman of Devotion (Proverbs 31:30):

Charm is deceptive, and beauty is fleeting; but a woman who fears the LORD is to be praised.

Charm is deceptive, and beauty does not last; but a woman who fears the LORD will be greatly praised.

Charm is deceitful, and beauty is vain, but a woman who fears the LORD is to be praised.

Charm is deceptive and beauty is fleeting, but a woman who fears the LORD is to be praised.

Favour is deceitful, and beauty is vain: but a woman that feareth the LORD, she shall be praised.

Charm is deceitful and beauty is passing, But a woman who fears the LORD, she shall be praised.

Charm is deceitful and beauty is vain, But a woman who fears the LORD, she shall be praised.
